Rose Geranium Essential Oil (pelargonium graveolens flower oil) is the hero ingredient in our Bloom range of products. Many are familiar with the wonderful rosy, sweet floral scent but not many people know and understand the benefits of using rose geranium oil.

Where does it come from?

The rose geranium we use at Nathalie Bond is from Morocco but it is also grown in South Africa, China and several European countries. The essential oil is steam-distilled from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the plant.

Does Rose Geranium have aromatherapy uses?

Rose geranium is used to calm anxiety and other nervous conditions and lift the spirits. It can be useful in depression and during mood swings related to hormonal shifts. It is both soothing and energising.

Does Rose Geranium have any skincare uses?

Rose geranium is suitable for all skin types, and is soothing and balancing when used on the skin. It has been studied by the medical community in the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions and infections. It balances sebum, which makes it very useful for skin that is very oily or very dry, or otherwise not in balance. Rose Geranium is reputed to balance the skin’s natural oil production, minimize the appearance of enlarged pores, eliminate infection-causing or acne-causing bacteria, enhance circulation, reduce the appearance of varicose veins, cellulite, and dull skin, encourage the body’s relaxation, promote the faster fading of scars and blemishes, soothe uncomfortable skin ailments, and generally rejuvenate the complexion.

It is worth noting that natural essential oils offer wonderful benefits for skin and mind however many skincare and candle brands use synthetic fragrance to cut cost but these offer no benefits whatsoever so it always important to read the ingredients.
