Patch Testing New Products

While we formulate our products with gentle, natural ingredients we still recommend that customers patch test a product before introducing them into their daily beauty regime. Patch Testing ensures your new product suits your skin and means that were you to develop a reaction you would be able to discover it without causing unnecessary discomfort. To patch test, apply a small amount to the inner arm and leave for 24 hours and observe for any reactions. If none occur, repeat this process on the neck, applying a small amount and leaving for 24 hours and check for a reaction. If the area of skin looks healthy and feels good then you're safe!

Can your products be used during pregnancy?

If you are in your first trimester of pregnancy, we recommend using our gentle products. If you are in your second or third trimester you should be safe to use any of our products. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and have any concerns we recommend that you seek advice from a doctor or midwife.

What is special about your soap bars?

Our soap bars are handmade from start to finish using organic ingredients and are gentle and suitable for all skin types. Our bars are cured in-house for four to six weeks before they are ready to use.

Do your soap bars contain sodium hydroxide?

It isn't possible to produce soap bars without using sodium hydroxide. In order for the saponification process to take place a strong alkali is an essential ingredient. However due to the chemical reaction taking place between the lye solution (sodium hydroxide and water) and the oils, the sodium hydroxide is no longer present in the final soap bar.
