Patch Testing New Products

While we formulate our products with gentle, natural ingredients we still recommend that customers patch test a product before introducing them into their daily beauty regime. Patch Testing ensures your new product suits your skin and means that were you to develop a reaction you would be able to discover it without causing unnecessary discomfort. To patch test, apply a small amount to the inner arm and leave for 24 hours and observe for any reactions. If none occur, repeat this process on the neck, applying a small amount and leaving for 24 hours and check for a reaction. If the area of skin looks healthy and feels good then you're safe!

Can your products be used during pregnancy?

If you are in your first trimester of pregnancy, we recommend using our gentle products. If you are in your second or third trimester you should be safe to use any of our products. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and have any concerns we recommend that you seek advice from a doctor or midwife.

What is special about your soap bars?

Our soap bars are handmade from start to finish using organic ingredients and are gentle and suitable for all skin types. Our bars are cured in-house for four to six weeks before they are ready to use.

Do your soap bars contain sodium hydroxide?

It isn't possible to produce soap bars without using sodium hydroxide. In order for the saponification process to take place a strong alkali is an essential ingredient. However due to the chemical reaction taking place between the lye solution (sodium hydroxide and water) and the oils, the sodium hydroxide is no longer present in the final soap bar.

Shipping Costs

All of our shipping prices are listed on our Shipping + Returns page.

Are your products organic?

Many of our products are made with certified organic ingredients. Where organic ingredients are not available or are too expensive we have sourced high quality natural ingredients instead.

Why organic?

We want to be a business that stands for simplicity, high quality and sustainability. Organic farming produces crops by using only environmentally and animal-friendly methods. They prohibit the use of synthetic fertilisers and restrict pesticides, meaning that crops are fertilised naturally by crop rotation, compost and manure. Our organic ingredients are certified by the Soil Association.

Are your products tested on animals?

We never test on animals. We have test our products on ourselves!

Are your products cruelty free?

100% yes!

Are your products suitable for vegans?

Most of our products are vegan-friendly. The only products that are not suitable for vegans are our balms and hand balm because they contain beeswax.

Candles

What kind of wax are the candles made from?

Our candles are 100% natural and are made using only soy wax and natural essential oils. The soy wax we use is free from pesticides and herbicides and genetically modified material. Many candle manufacturers use paraffin wax (sometimes called mineral wax because it sounds nicer) because it's cheap but it isn't very good for you or the planet.

What are your wicks made from?

We use cotton wicks.

How do I enjoy my candle safely?

Please follow a few simple instructions for best results.

+ Always trim the wick to 5mm before lighting.

+ Place your candle on a heat proof surface.

+ Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.

+ Leave a 50mm gap between each candles.

+ Allow the candle to burn for between 2 to 4 hours to allow the wax to melt up to the glass.

+ Do not touch a hot candle.

+ Keep your candles away from draughts.

+ Never leave a burning candle unattended.

+ Extinguish the flame with a snuffer and straighten the wick if necessary.

+ Do not relight a candle containing less than 7mm of wax.
