Leanne Moore is our new Workshop Assistant. She has a degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology, so she's accustomed to experimenting with various ingredients. Since Leanne has joined the Nathalie Bond team we've enjoyed her music choices (Mambo No.5 and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun are firm favourites), and we've been impressed by how much she can eat. Hannah finds out more...
If you could describe yourself in one word what would it be?I wasn’t sure about this one so I asked around. Here are the suggestions: geeky, lively, perfectionist. However, the reoccurring theme seemed to be “hungry”. My large appetite is very well known and I’m instantly happy as soon as I’m given food!
What did you do prior to working at Nathalie Bond Organics? I’ve just graduated from the University of Sheffield with a First in Biochemistry and Microbiology. I also volunteered at a school in Uganda last summer and now I’d really like to travel some more.
What item of your skincare routine could you not live without?Moisturiser - I’ve had eczema and sensitive skin since I was a child, so I’ve always needed it! I currently use the Bodyshop Vitamin E cream. And I’m always in need of concealer to hide my tired eyes in a morning (I do not like mornings!)
Favourite film? It has to be Remember the Titans, although I do know all the words to the Bridget Jones films and end up quoting them quite a lot!
Favourite book?To Kill a Mockingbird
You walk to work, what do you like to listen to on your journey? This is a tough one! I tend to start the day by listening to some more chilled artists like Oh Wonder, Aquilo and Jack Savoretti. I often listen to the playlist from my 21st birthday party in the workshop (Mambo No.5 and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun always cheer me up!)
What do you like to do with an evening off?My evening plans usually get ruined by the fact I often fall asleep. My ability to nap anywhere is a definite skill. I enjoy cooking, baking and perusing Pinterest for recipes and craft ideas. One of my main hobbies is cross-stitching and watching movies, but my perfect evening would also consist of a trip to the pub for a pint (I’m a proper Yorkshire lass).
Best thing about working at Nathalie Bond Organics?I no longer have to buy perfume because I always smell great after work! And the products are all natural and transparent about what they contain, which is great for me as I’ve got lots of allergies. I’ve also found myself researching the chemistry behind some of the products - any excuse to geek out and use my degree makes me happy!
What is your favourite NBO product? The Lemongrass Candle. I look forward to making them just because it’s an excuse to smell lemongrass all day.
