How to use the Pink Clay Mask

Sometimes, on top of your daily skincare ritual, it’s good to give your face some extra TLC. That is particularly important when cheeks are bombarded by sunlight, wind and rain on a daily basis. Pink Clay masks help to restore and replenish skin with moisture, draw out impurities and lightly exfoliate the complexion with its slightly grainy texture.

Our mask contains 100% natural ingredients and is formulated from a blend of pink French clay, rosehip extract, chamomile flowers and seaweed.

How to use the Pink Clay Mask

Take a teaspoon of the clay and blend it with either a few drops of warm water, rose water or oil in a small bowl. Massage the mask paste into your skin and leave it for 10 minutes. For ultimate relaxation, use the ten minutes to try some deep breathing or mindfulness exercises. Afterwards, wash the clay off using warm water and rehydrate with a few drops of Face Oil.

Sounds good but you might be wondering why it’s a good idea to rub clay all over your face. Here are some facts about pink clay to explain…

  • Pink clay is a mild combination of white and red clay and is known as the gentlest of clays. It is suitable for sensitive skin types because it does not interfere with the skin’s natural oils. Pink clay leaves natural oils alone and offers a boost of natural minerals to enable the skin to perform well and retain moisture, making it perfect for tight and dry skin.
  • It is rich in silica, which is very handy when it comes to skin regeneration. Silica is formed when the two elements silicon and oxygen combine, and it is often linked with healthy youthful skin because it helps to produce collagen. Apparently, it also creates bonds between protein molecules, which are necessary for the skin’s ability to retain water.
  • Plus, other minerals present in pink clay such as kaolinite and calcite can help with detoxification - necessary when the skin has been exposed to pollution which is an issue if you live in a city.
  • It can generate almost instantaneous results. Although we’d always recommend spot testing ahead of time, once you know your skin is happy with pink clay, apply it on a day when you want to look extra special.
  • We tend to use this mask no more than three times a week and we always apply Face Oil to moisturise afterwards.
