This month the Soil Association has launched Organic September; a whole month to celebrate all things natural and chemical-free. The Soil Association was founded over 60 years ago with the intention of campaigning for healthy, humane and sustainable food, farming and land use. They are the go-to charity for organic facts, helping us to live and work in a sustainable way using resources that are readily available.
Sometimes it is hard to know where to start with organic products – what does it really mean? Are they really better for me? How do I know if this item is really organic? The list could go on. So, the Soil Association has launched Organic September to help us out. They say: “The buying decisions you make are a simple but powerful form of direct action and small changes really can make a big difference. Swapping to organic food has huge benefits for people, animal welfare and the environment.”
The team has put together a great guide with 30 simple and affordable changes you could make to your daily life to give the environment a helping hand. There are loads of ways you can join in, either through buying organic tea (try Clipper or Pukka), not covering your garden in pesticides or trying a moisturiser with no genetically modified ingredients. It is simple!
The Soil Association will also be offering up a range of special offers and exclusive discounts from some of the biggest organic brands, and they have roped in some of the UK’s best chefs to create inspiring, fresh, seasonal and organic dishes. Plus, the wonderful charity is promoting a range of events across the country so you can try your hand at organic farming or making your own soil or natural bath bomb.
We are also very excited that this week is Organic Beauty Week. Due to the fact there are no legal restrictions around claiming your beauty product is organic, the Soil Association has set up the Campaign for Clarity so that it is easier for consumers to see what is really in their sweet-smelling potions and lotions. At Nathalie Bond Organics we print every single ingredient on the outside of our products - there are no hidden nasties in our recyclable boxes! Our skincare range is packed full of natural goodness, sourced from organic certified suppliers and handcrafted in our studio.
